Georgetown University is honored to host Mr. Shiv Khemka, Vice Chairman SUN Group and Executive Chairman of The Global Education and Leadership Foundation.
Mr.Khemka addressed a very small audience for an invitation-only event at Georgetown's Riggs Library on "Leadership from Social Change" in light of the work The Global Education and Leadership Foundation is doing to provide mentorship and growth opportunities for young people around the world. His address generated a vibrant discussion of the challenges of training ethical leaders to face the pressing issues of the future. Mr.Khemka spoke about how the United States of America and Washington DC in particular had a crucial role to play in grooming young leaders to take on world challenges. He also spoke about what led to the inception of TGELF, what its goals are and how Georgetown could partner in TGELF's mission. The talk was followed by an opportunity to meet Mr. and Mrs. Khemka as well as Mrs.Gowri Ishwaran (CEO TGELF) at a reception.

Shiv Khemka is Vice Chairman of SUN Group, a private investment group active in several transforming markets around the world, with particular focus on Russia and India. Shiv was elected a ‘Global Leader for Tomorrow’ (GLT) at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 1997 and was invited to join the Forum’s ‘Foreign Business Leaders Council’ for Russia. Shiv serves on the EMEA Board of The Wharton School, on the Board of the Wharton Global Family Alliance and on the Board of Governors of The Lauder Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Shiv is also a member of the President’s Leadership Council at Brown University; a member of the International Advisory Board of the Centre for the Advanced Study of India (CASI) at the University of Pennsylvania and sits on the Advisory Board of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London. As one of the founders and partners, Shiv also sits on the Council of Moscow School of Management “Skolkovo”. Mr. Khemka is a member of the Brookings India Founders Circle.
